Hola Familia!!!

So i am going to be calling before we get on the plane in salt lake because we have a really short layover in texas...

The flight in Salt lake is at 12:30ish so I will be calling before that! I think i should have enought time to call everyone if i only talk for a minute or two.  SO i will call mom and dad first that way if i run out of time i will talk to them.  I don't think i will have enough time to call in Texas because we have like an hour layover and we need to change to the international terminal so just plan on the morning everyone have your phone and hopefully I will have time to call everyone.  If not i love you and I'm sorry! Love you guys! Hopefully talk to you all on monday!

Last P-Day in the MTC

Hi family!

Well here it is the last P-day before I officially leave.  I am so excited! A little nervous but that's normal (: I just can't wait to leave! So our week has been so busy! We have been teaching like 5 people a day and trying to talk in spanish as much as we can.  We have been practicing teaching commandments and all sorts of things.  But the rest of the week will be so busy. We start packing today and then tomorrow we have in field orientation.  Not sure exactly what you do .  Everyone tells us it's a surprise! So we will find out tomorrow.  Then saay is our last day of class and we are basically just reviewing all of the spanish things we need help with for the whole day.  Which will be great help but my brain is always so fried after.  So many verb tenses to learn.  And all the ways its conjugated. But it will come.  Then Sunday is our last day... I have mixed feelings because our district is so great and only half of them are going to Costa Rica. I will miss them all very much but we are just so excited to go!  We leave Monday at 7:00 so i'm not sure if i will call in the SLC airport or in Texas.  Maybe both.  But i will hopefully be able to call everyone.  Mom, Dad, Morgue, and Kate.  I think i will but Mom and Dad for sure (: We should get there about 8:00 at night so not to bad.  It will be a great day!

So this week Elder Bednar came and spoke on Sunday.  But they did like a question and answer thing with him so he was just talking about a bunch of doctrine and stuff.  One girl asked why don't women have the priesthood.  And he gave the greatest analogy about the priesthood being an umbrella that blesses all the people under it the men just have the job to hold the umbrella.  It was really neat.  But he did give us one challenge he told us if we pray every morning and night for the gift of tounges and if we invite our families to do the same for us that we will be blessed and learn our mission languages well and quickly.  So i would love if if you guys could join me in this special prayer.  I have been praying for this every day and I have seen the change that it has made.  I mean my spanish is no where near perfect but it is improving everyday with practice!

Well I love you all very much! I can't wait to talk to you again monday (: I will be on for a minute so email back if you want (: Love you all!

Hi family (:

Hi family (:

Well this week has been a little rough... i don't know exactly why we have just been having a hard time teaching this week.  I blame the phone call ;) just kidding.. I loved talking to all of you! Seriously though the minute we hung up all of the sisters in my zone were like did that just happen. It felt like a dream or something.

Well we have just been having a hard time focusing and teaching good lessons this week.  I'm not sure why but on tuesday at the Devotional Elder Perry came! It was so neat.  He talked about teaching in Unity with your companion and that it is so important to support your companion.  After that we had a great long talk about what we can do better and how we can teach better together.  It was really neat to just talk.  I really love my companion so much! Sometimes she is a little weird but that's okay (: i know that Heavenly Father put us together for a reason!

Also yesterday we did an activity about the Atonment in class and it was really neat.  I would encourage everyone to go and find five scriptures about the atonment in the book of mormon and share then with your family or friends.  It was so neat.

We also got a new district in our zone this week because the other ones left monday.  The new district is all Elders so that it fun.  But before they got here we were the only district in our zone and we have like 12 teachers for our zone so on monday and tuesday all of the teachers were in our class just waiting to help us.  It was great (: we love our teacher soooo much! They are seriously the best!

The pictures of Avery on her Birthday were sooo cute! I'm sorry i don't have pictures this week... nothing really happened.. But i can't believe that i leave for costa rica in 10 days... its CRAZY! But i am so excited! And my companion is going to Costa Rica too so we hope that one day we will get to be companions again! That would be so cool!

Well love you family I will be on for a while so email if you can!

Great Week!

Hi family!

This week has been sooooo good!!!! (: really I have gotten into the spirit of missionary work! So i have a few amazing suprises..........first...... I GET TO CALL HOME ON MOTHERS DAY!!!!! We are not sure why but all the missionaries get to call home... this is the first time in like forever! So i will be calling around 2:30.... i don't think anyone is on right now but i will call mom's phone so if you are all together i would love to talk to you (: So mother.... ANSWER YOUR PHONE when i call or you will miss me.  I get to call for 30 minutes (: i am so excited to talk to you guys i can't even handle it!! (:

Um also this week Jeffery R Holland came and talked in our Tuesday devotional! (: it was amazing! He just basically went over out purpose of being missionaries and he has such a love for missionary work it is unreal.  When i found out he was talking i was like jumping for joy.  I told my Companion that it was like seeing my hero in real life! I was so happy! His talk was amazing! He also told us that it was going to be hard because it was hard for the savior! We have to feel a part of what he felt because we are doing his work here.  It was just amazing!

So our teachers are really pushing us this week to raise the bar.  We have learned so many great things this week especially.  We did an activity where we practiced street contacting and honestly i think that might be my favorite thing to do.... which is weird because i am not usually one to go up to people and stop them on the street to try and talk to them in a language i barely speak but it was a blast.  I felt that same spirit working in me again and I really can't wait to get to Costa Rica!

Its so crazy that i have been here for 3 weeks... sometimes it feel like forever and sometimes I think what it's already been almost a month..... I love it here though! It is really hard but It is the best thing i have ever done! My testimony has grown SO much just being here for 3 weeks.  I know that this is the Lords work! That his hand is guiding us to the people who are ready and the things we need to teach! I love my Heavenly father soooo much it is unreal!

So last night my eye started hurting...i took my contacts out and my eye was blood red... it still really hurts but i am going to go to the doctor today just to make sure that it isn't pink eye or something.  I will keep you posted Mom (:

Well thank you all so much for the letters and packages this week!! I really love you all so much! I will try to write everyone a letter today but things are going really good here! My companion and I are getting a long and  being able to talk about things and teach together. The language is coming! Slowly but surely! and I know that this is exactly where my Heavenly father wants me to be,

Oh the reason we are emailing early today is because we get to go to a special art exhibit at BYU called "sacred gifts" or something (: i don't really know! Anyway i love you (:

A Great Week!

HI family!!!! (:

I have had a great week! It has been so much better this week and I feel like I am finally getting the hang of things here! I feel like I have been here forever!!

Well this week has just been a lot more class and teaching our fake investigators who are   really our teachers.  We teach one or two lessons a day.  One of our teachers had her last day here yesterday so that was really sad because she is the nicest one and we love her.

Well yesterday we were taught two lessons so i will just tell you about both of them,  The first lesson was to our teacher Hermano Woodbury, and we had taught him one lesson before that.  Things were going really well we were all just talking ( oh and we teach all of our lessons in spanish) but then he just told us he didn't know if it was possible for him to change his life.  He felt like he was to far gone to come back.  We had planned on talking about the restoration but then i felt like we should share the story of Alma the younger with him.  So we opened to that and started  reading! The spirit was so strong and i don't remember anything i said because it was not me talking it was totally the Heavenly Father! I have never felt anything like that before! It was seriously amazing! I always want to be worthy to have that spirit and to know what it feels like so i can respond to it quickly.  This lesson gave me hope that maybe I can be a good missionary after all!

The next lesson was horrible :( it was with our other teacher Hermana Osborn and she is hard to teach.  I like her a lot but she kind of scares me.  So really from the minute we started she just wasn't interested in our lesson and the spirit was not there.  I think i forgot how to say anything in spanish and i just kept looking at my companion like "help me" so that was really hard.  My companion is really hard on herself and likes to talk alot about how we did so bad but I really don't like to do that. I'm like wow that was horrible how can we make it better.  It really just taught me how sensitive the spirit is and that we always have to be trying to be better for him to help us.

Well that is the highlight of my week here! I loved all the letters, and packages! Oh also one of the Hermans in our zone, Her name is Hermana Huff She is from Arizona, got locked in the bathroom yesterday in our class room for like 10 minutes.  We had to call security to come get her out.  It was so funny (: she is probably my favorite person here we get along really well but its probably okay we are not companions because we like to talk and are a lot alike.  My companion is nice I am for sure learning patience (: love you all and miss you tons!!! But not to much ;)
