We have a baptism planned for this saturday

Hi family (:

How is everyone doing? Can you believe that August is almost over??

This week has been good. We have been having more success with finding new people to teach and we have just been having a lot of fun this week. We have a baptism planned for this saturday. A Grandma who my companion is kind of obsessed with because she reminds her of her Grandma. But she is really sweet (: She is always just wanting to talk to us because she is living with her daughter but her daughter is always working so she is with the grandkids. But they are CRAZY! Hopefully we can get the mom to come to church with us too so everyone can go together.

This sunday we had two Abuelas that came to church. Both of them are progressing (: yay for the grandmas of Costa rica! (: But this week we were a little frustrated with finding new people so we said okay lets just knock this door and yeah. So we did there was a Lady who is really really prego... But she didn't have time to talk so she told us to come back later. We went back another time and same thing. Then yesterday we went back again and her husband was there. We started talking to them and found out that he is a member. That his brother is in our ward. And that all of their kids were almost baptized with the missionaries about a year ago but no one was. So we have a goal with them to help them get married and then to baptize the mom and their kids (: We were really excited! The craziest thing is that we really were just knocking doors and found his family. We knew that they lived in this part of our area but we had no idea where. It just goes to show you that the Lord knows where we need to go and if we are listening to him we will find the people we need to find.

Also this Sunday I gave my first talk in Sacrament meeting (: yay!! I was really nervous but It wasn't horrible. I didn't even look at my notes the whole time so that was good! But I had to give my talk twice because we have started to have a meeting in the Noche for the people who have to work during the day so I had to give my talk twice,  I love my branch so much! Ah the members here are so great! I really couldn't have asked for nicer people! They really have become my family here in Costa Rica!

Well family! Keep me in your prayers (: I love you all so much! Hope everything is going good with you!! <3<3<3<3

I passed my 4 month mark in the mission.....

Hi family (:

Tihs week I passed my 4 month mark in the mission..... wat??? Crazy stuff!! This week has been pretty good. Still nothing to exciting to report. Yesterday was changes and I will be here in Canas or at least 6 more weeks. But i am really excited about that (: I love it here. It is so different than any where else, Everyone is bien tranquilla! No big cities or lots of cars. It is just like the country part of Costa Rica.

We have been having a little more success but nothing to big. We have really been working hard here and I know that the Lord will eventually bless us with the fruits of our labor. One thing we have learned this week is that you have to be grateful for all the little things that you have in your lives. That if you had one person come to church that that one person is coming closer to Christ. This week we had 6 people come to church. We have started to have just a sacrament meeting at like 6:30 or some o the members that have to work on sundays. So that is different. We started our day with church and ended with church yesterday too.

This week was mothers day here so everyone was home from work on Friday and then everyone was out of town or the weekend... So that was a little rough we had very few lessons this weekend but still we are always trying to find new people to teach.

I sent you letters so watch the mailbox (: maybe in a month haha. But things are good here. Changing but good. My companion only has 1 transfer left so that is weird.  I don't know what I will do without her. She is awesome (:

Well family sorry this is short but I love you all and miss ya like crazy! (:

We are having a little more success....

Family!!! (: How is everyone doing??

This week has been pretty normal. We have been working really hard! We are having a little more success....

So this week for our Noche De Hogar we had a night of Unity.. because we are trying to help the two branches get a long a little better. We had a whole bunch of food but there were so many people.... like 100 something... So the food was in short supply.... we had everyone line up and the Sisters of the ward were serving the food. Some how I got put in charge of serving the Arroz con Leche. Which is kind of like rice pudding... its really good and everyone loves it. But obviously that was the last thing people were eating so I was waiting for everyone to get rice before i could eat.... lets just say all the good stuff was gone by the time i was finished. I had like a tortilla and some chinese food. Haha (: I guess that is what you get when you are serving others (: but it was still great. The best part is that I was eating but some of our investigators were there and their kids wanted to play soccer but no one would play so Hermana Garcia andI started playing. I put my food down so i could play and one of the Sisters was cleaning up... I saw her coming and she picked up my plate and put it in the Garbage. I was like Hermana Hermana no that is my food. She obviously didn't hear and put it in the garbage.... I was like Oh no!! She was like oh no that was yours. Oh it's still good meh just eat it. So I ate food.... that was in the garbage... (: haha it was pretty funny. A little gross but funny (:

So we found this family a few months ago and the mom came to church like the sunday after we found her but that sunday was horrible. She was a little late so she missed the sacrament and had to wait outside for it to finish. Then her kids were really restless during the meeting and the talks were realy weird.... SO after that she basically told us that shd didn't want to meet with us and that the church was kinds of weird. We were sad but What can you do. So we still tried to talk to her and invite her to stuff but she wouldn't come. Then this week we were walking by her house and she has a daughter that is two who really really likes me (: We were walking by and she saw us. She ran into the house and said the Hermanas the Hermanas but when her mom came out to see us we had already left. So she started crying and her mom called us and told us to come back later So we did and we invited them to come to the Noche de Hogar. They came! And her Husband came too which was a miracle because before he dind't want anything to do with us. We had a really great lesson with them and she came to church this week (: He had to work but they came! (: I was so excited! And this time i was prepared to entertain her kids. I had cookies crayons and a coloring book. So they were entertained and she could listen to the talks. She really likes the church now. And things are getting better in her family with the gospel. Hermana Garcia and I were joking that her daughter is going to be the salvation for their family because she really wouldn't have called us if it wasn't for her daughter. So i'm  pretty sure her and I were friends before this life (: haha

Well this week has been pretty normal. Things are good. The work is moving forward. (: the church is true and Heavenly Father has a plan for everyone. I love you all so much! Miss ya like crazy! The pictures of Haileys birthday were SO cute! She is talking so much! And Blakes little Train hat what cuties (: The pictures of Bryn and Ave mopping the floor. Man those girls are gonna be good little mommies (: I love you all and miss ya like crazy! Hope you have a good week

WE HAD SIX INVESTIGATORS IN CHURCH!!!!

Hola familia!!!

How is everyone this week??? Things are good here! This week has been really great!

Well this week we had a special meeting for our Zone and President Wilkinson came and talked to us.  He is so great! So we talked about where things are going here and the vision that the Lord has for our Area, Guanacaste. We are aiming to have a stake here by the end of the year. Which will take a lot of work but we are all really excited to work hard! After this meeting we had interviews with President. He and his family are just so awesome! I was so grateful to have those few minutes to talk with him. He asked me what has been the hardest part of my first few weeks and I told him that I just have to do it. I have been watching my companion for 11 weeks and learning a lot from her but now i just need to do it myself and he said Yes Hermana Yes you do. :) He is awesome!

So after the meeting Hermana Garcia and I had divisions with the Sister Training Leaders. I was a little bit nervous for this because Hermana Garcia was going to Liberia and I was staying here with another Hermana... so basically I was incharge of planning and saying where we were going and who we would talk to. I was really nervous! But we had a great two days. Most of our plans fell through but I learned a lot and i learned that I really do know how to do this I just need to do it.

After Hermana Garcia got back we had a long chat about how we just need to start working harder to see more results. We do these things call LPE's which is Leccions para encontrar. ( lessons to find) we basically just talk to someone on the street teach them something small and set up another time to visit them. So we have a goal to do 20 or more of these a day and we have really been struggling with this. But also with people coming to church. So every time we prayed about what we needed to do to get people to come to church i just felt like we need to do out LPE's because this is how we show our Heavenly Father that we are willing to do our part. So when we were on divisions we did 40 and then when she came back that saturday we did 20 as well. Then guess what happened on Sunday...... WE HAD SIX INVESTIGATORS IN CHURCH!!!! We were so happy! Plus it was fast sunday so that was really neat that they got to listen to our branch bear their testimonies.

We have really just started to work harder and remember why we are here. I love my companion so much! We are really like best friends! She is such a great example to me! Oh also this week in divisions, so we have a phone but i hardly ever use it because i couldn't understand anyone speaking on the phone. But since she was gone i had to talk on the phone..... anyone that knows me knows that is my phobia. But i did it. I was calling one of the sisters in our ward and she started talking to me then she asked me how Liberia was I told her this is Hermana Chatwin, i am in Canas. She was like oh my heck i thought you were Hermana Garcia your accent it pure tica~!! :) I was so happy to hear that. THen the next day I was talking to my companion and she thought i was the sister training leader because my accent! The lord is really working miracles! Not just with my spanish but with the work her in Costa Rica! I love it here! I know it's hard but it is so worth it!

So clearly we changed Pday this week because there is a senior couple that is going home this change so they decided to take us to the "Zoo".... Anyone who knows me knows how much i love the regular zoo but this was the wimpiest zoo in the world. The only cool thing was you could feed the giraffes and zebras. I was not impressed..... But it was fun to do something with our zone (: Also on the way there we had to take a bus. The last time we went Hermana Garcia Contacted the bus but this time she said go for it. So i went to the front of the bus and started talking and shared a little bit of our message. (: it was a little scary but I am so blessed to have the help of the Lord always! I love being a missionary!

Well family hope all is well with you guys! I love you all SO much! Can't believe it has almost been four months. The time is flying by! I love seeing all the pictures of your cute kids! Everyone is so big! And Baby Liam (: yay!!!! Hope all is well with everyone! Love you all so much!!

<3 Hermana Chatwin

Here are a few pictures from the zoo.... yeah it was a little pathetic but i fed a Zebra with my mouth so yeah that was cool.... (:
